In July 2007, State Transit asked the community for comment on a proposal to provide more direct bus services by removing diversions from routes and provide consistent, regular services that are more reliable.
The 'have your say' consultation process provided information that assisted us to review our proposal and identify opportunities to improve services to our customers.
We appreciate the time the local community took to be involved in the process. We received more than 800 surveys and letters during the consultation period. There was a large response in favour of the proposal, as well as some expressing concern and others offering suggestions. All submissions were carefully considered before making the final decision on the bus routes.
We have addressed the following:
- Revised Route 623 - this route will operate as a 6-month trial only during which time State Transit will evaluate passenger use of the service.
- Bus ticket outlet locations
- Wider range of ticket outlet locations
- Timetables for updated bus network
- Better connections at Railway Stations
- School Bus Services
- Review location of some bus stops
