Body Repairer (Apprentice)
Heavy Vehicle Body Repairers maintain and repair State Transit buses (gas and diesel).Some of the duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Repairing accident damage
- Straightening frames
- Fibreglass repairs
- Panel fabrication
- Rust repairs
- Remove and replace bonded panels and windows
- Align chassis using Mitek equipment
- Welding
- Seat repairs and replacements
- Repair and service destination mechanisms
- Chassis repairs
- Change out programs
- Glass replacement
Physical Requirements
In the role of Body Repairer there are many physical requirements for the position. To ensure you are able to perform all the duties for the apprenticeship you will undertake a medical that will assess your physical capabilities in relation to the critical work demands.
