Mercedes-Benz OC500LE - CNG
Currently entering service into the State Transit fleet are 255 Mercedes-Benz OC500LE buses, powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
As with all new buses delivered to State Transit, the vehicles are wheelchair accessible (fitted with ramps and kneeling suspension). Additional features include cloth seating, large electronic destination signage, improved interior lighting, and are fully air-conditioned.
Several of these vehicles are allocated to Sydney Buses' metrobus service, and have satellite-controlled "next stop" visual route information and audio announcement systems installed.
