Environmental Engineering Graduate Program

As the Environmental Engineering Graduate, you will be based at the head office of Sydney Buses working with the Environment Manager in the Safety Department. Environmental employment is the performance of employment activities that seek to manage the use of, impact on, and enhance the sustainability of the environment.

The Environmental Engineering Graduate Program will provide you with significant experience in:

  • environmental auditing of depots

  • environmental aspects and impacts

  • environmental risk assessment

  • development of environmental monitoring programs – stormwater, groundwater, noise, air quality/emission and trade waste monitoring

  • development of energy and water conservation programs and initiatives

  • assisting with environmental projects

  • environmental management systems

  • environmental reporting

Environmental Engineering Placement Schedule

Over two years, you will be given opportunities to build your experience and skills, and to grow and develop via working on:

  • developing and implementing a range of environmental programs and projects

  • enhancing State Transit environmental position and reputation

  • environmental management systems

  • auditing and risk assessment

  • energy conservation

  • sustainability

  • greenhouse challenge and greenhouse mitigation strategies

  • environmental reporting

Relevant University Degrees

If you have recently completed a degree (or expect to complete a degree at the end of 2008) in any of the following, or similar, broad range of disciplines, then the Environmental Engineering Graduate Program will be suitable for you:

  • Bachelor of Social (Environmental Major)

  • Bachelor of Environmental Science

  • Bachelor of Environmental Engineering

  • Masters of Environmental Management
