Open Access Information

Office of the Information Commissioner
The Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (the GIPA Act), requires every agency to make certain government information publicly available. This information is called ‘open access information’ or ‘mandatory release information’.

State Transit is developing a publication guide to advise how this information is released.  The Publication Guide will include the following information:

•    State Transit’s structure and functions
•    Types of information held by State Transit
•    Types of information State Transit will make publicly available
•    Types of information State Transit will make freely available, or if State Transit will charge for access to certain kinds of information.

Section 21 of the GIPA Act requires agencies to adopt their first Publication Guide, within six months of the Act’s commencement. However, agencies are required to first notify the Information Commissioner before adopting their Publication Guide.

The publication Guide will be published in this section once approved.

The following Open Access Information is available through this website:
•    Documents tabled in Parliament
•    Disclosure log
•    Record of open access information not made publicly available
•    Disposal of Property
•    Guarantee of Service
•    Register of government contracts
