    Information Technology

    There are two positions available in 2010:

    • IT Project Management Office and Project Delivery; and
    • IT Operations (Infrastructure Management)

    As a Graduate in the Information Management and Technology field you will be placed primarily at the head office of Sydney Buses in the Finance and Administrative Services Department. The IT unit is responsible for many sophisticated and specialised systems essential to operating a large and modern bus company, including ticketing, scheduling, rostering and bus maintenance as well as more familiar back office systems.

    IT Project Management Office and Project Delivery

    This position will provide you with opportunities to work on projects that build your skills and experience in computer services. Sydney Buses has established a IT Project Management Office (PMO) providing an opportunity for you to participate in the PMO and related disciplines, and also to become involved in some progressive and interesting technology based projects.

    As part of the IT PMO you will have the opportunity to work on projects that involve all parts of the organisation and a wide range of Information Technologies. These include:

    • Systems Analysis
    • Business Analysis
    • Project Management
    • Solutions Design

    IT Operations (Infrastructure Management)

    This position involves the delivery of IT infrastructure technical support. Sydney Buses IT has around 1500 end-users across 15 sites in metro Sydney and Newcastle. State Transit IT uses a thin-client architecture to deliver a range of critical business applications.

    This will involve tasks and education related to:

    • Windows Server Administration
    • Network administration and configuration
    • Network security

    Additionally, State Transit is currently undergoing major infrastructure upgrades and this role will participate in the implementation of these upgrades.

    Relevant University Degrees

    If you have recently completed a degree (or expect to complete a degree at the end of 2009) in any of the following, or similar, broad range of disciplines, then the Information Management and Technology Graduate Program opportunities may be suitable for you:
