Connecting Sydney’s East and West…New metrobus coming soon

Category: Transport News and Announcements
Posted Date: 28 July 2008

Sydney Buses is introducing a new metrobus service that will run between Kingsford and Leichhardt.

The new service connects Sydney’s inner western and inner eastern suburbs and provides a link to the CBD. The metrobus puts all kinds of popular destinations at easy reach – including Norton Street cafes and cinemas in Leichhardt, Broadway Shopping Centre, Chinatown, Town Hall Station, George Street cinemas, Moore Park, Kensington and Kingsford and much more.

Plus, the metrobus conveniently stops near the University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, University of Technology Sydney, Notre Dame University and Sydney TAFE College.

Another benefit for passengers on board the new metrobus service is the many inter-connecting links to rail and other major bus routes to all parts of Sydney.

The metrobus is a PrePay only service, running approximately every ten minutes in peak hour and every fifteen minutes at other times. What’s more, the metrobus service is running in addition to timetabled buses operating on Parramatta Road and Anzac Parade – so you will find a bus in no time!

The new metrobuses will also use the latest environmental technology. All will be equipped with either natural gas or low emission diesel powered engines, so you can rest assured that you will be doing your bit for a cleaner environment.

More information will be available soon.
