School Student Transport Scheme

About the scheme

The School Student Transport Scheme (SSTS) provides subsidised travel on public transport for eligible school/TAFE students.

  • travel between the student’s home and the school/TAFE campus at which the student is enrolled;
  • approved travel, Monday to Friday on school days.

SSTS is managed by the NSW Ministry of Transport (MOT) and applicants should visit the MOT website for detailed information and conditions about the scheme, including eligibility, Code of Conduct for School Students on Buses, and appeal process.

The role of State Transit Authority is to issue passes to eligible students for travel on State Transit services, and replacement passes, if necessary.
