DayTripper

The DayTripper is an all-in-one day ticket that gives you unlimited travel until 4am the following day on all:

  • regular Sydney Buses services
  • regular Sydney Ferries services
  • CityRail services in the suburban area (bounded by Cowan, Emu Plains, Richmond, Carlingford, Macarthur, Cronulla, Otford and Bondi Junction).

DayTripper tickets become active when first used, except those purchased from the bus driver or from CityRail and Sydney Ferries outlets – these are active upon purchase.

Ideal Use

A DayTripper ticket is ideal if you plan to catch regular buses (including MetroBus), trains and ferries frequently, on a single day. If you plan to catch at least two ferries in a day then this can be a cost effective way to travel.

Alternatively, if you are already familiar with the city and need travel over a week, a TravelPass may be a more suitable ticket option.

DayTripper discount offers

The DayTripper includes fantastic discount offers to the Sydney attractions listed below and on our "DayTripper Discounts" page.

NB: Only valid and dated DayTripper tickets will be accepted at venues.

Discount offers are not available in conjunction with any other offer, group, family or concession rate.

Limitations

DayTrippers cannot be used:

  • on Sydney Explorer buses
  • on Bondi Explorer buses
  • on Sydney Buses and Sydney Ferries special event services or private bus company services
  • to enter or exit Green Square, Mascot, Domestic and International stations. A station access fee must be paid at these locations.

How to use a DayTripper ticket?

  • On Sydney Buses, insert your ticket into the green machine on the bus.
  • On CityRail trains, insert the ticket into the automatic gates. Where there are no gates, show the ticket to the CityRail attendant.
  • On Sydney Ferries, insert your ticket into the turnstile or present it to the deckhand on-board.
