Pensioner Excursion
The Pensioner Excursion Ticket (PET) covers all-day, unlimited travel on:
- Sydney Buses
- Sydney Ferries
- Newcastle Buses and Ferries
- CityRail trains
- Private buses in the Sydney Metropolitan area, Newcastle, Hunter, Illawarra, Blue Mountains and Central Coast areas. View list of Private Operators
Tickets are valid for travel up to 4am the following morning.
The expiry date prints on the back of the ticket.
Who is eligible?
Pensioner Excursion Tickets are available to people holding Centrelink pensioner concession cards, NSW Seniors Cards or NSW or Victorian War Widow/er concession cards.
How much?
The flat fare Pensioner Excursion Ticket costs $2.50.
Limitations
- TravelPasses are not valid on Premium services, including Explorer buses, special sporting shuttles and Manly JetCats.
- Travel is permitted on Manly JetCats when the Manly Ferry is not operating (see Manly Ferry Timetable for relevant services).
- A station access fee applies for Mascot, Green Square, Domestic and International Airport train stations.
Where to buy?
- From bus drivers (excluding Sydney Buses' "PrePay Only" bus services)
- From selected ticket agents along PrePay Only bus routes
- At CityRail stations
- At Sydney Ferries ticket offices
- At Newcastle Ferries ticket offices
- On board private buses.
For short distance travel
If you are only travelling a short distance, it may be better value to purchase a single ride concession. These tickets can be purchased from the driver on the day of travel or from selected ticket agents and vending machines along PrePay Only routes.
Note that pensioners are not entitled to purchase TravelTen concessions.
