Sections

Each bus route has distance-based section points along the route that determine the price of the ticket. A section is approximately 1.6 kilometres (or a mile).

Sections are grouped into five price categories so that you only pay for the distance you travel.

To calculate your ticket price, refer to the map of the bus route you are travelling on, count up the number of sections you wish to travel in - including the section you start in.

Select your route, get your map and count the section points. Then select the relevant TravelTen.

Handy Tips

  • You can pay for longer journeys by dipping your TravelTen more than once. For example, pay for a 10-section trip by dipping a Brown TravelTen (3-5 sections) twice. Note that it is more cost effective to use the correct ticket.
  • You can also pay for your friend (taking the same trip) by dipping your TravelTen twice.

Note: If you plan to travel frequently, consider a TravelPass. TravelPass tickets allow unlimited travel within set zones using multiple modes of transport.
